Idag används 3D-printing för prototyper, nyproduktion men också för att tillverka reservdelar för både människor och maskiner.

Tryckeriutbildningar kan finnas inom Yrkeshögskolan.

An artist in this position will create assets consistent with the look and feel established by the Art Director, in addition to participating in exploring and researching new pipelines and visuals. Responsibilities: - Ensuring the visual excellence of the characters in the finished game. - Creating high quality models for real time rendering, based on the art direction. - Participating in planning and supervising. - Critique character art assets and provide concise and constructive feedback internally and externally. - Work closely with the design department and to ensure the art supports the gameplay. We are collaborating with Disney and Lucasfilm Games on a new story-driven open-world video game set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy. This is a lore we love and want to do justice with a game and story that bring both new and lifelong fans on an immersive and outstanding journey that will stay with them for years.


As an Environment (Level) Artist here at Massive, you'll get the chance to use your artistic eye to create gameplay spaces that not only play well but look visually stunning too. Utilizing the power of our in-house game engine - Snowdrop, you'll collaborate with fellow Artists, Tech Art, and Level Designers to create unique AAA game worlds.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental storytelling through set dressing, composition & lighting;
  • Distribute and prop 3D assets throughout the game for great readability;
  • Build 3D scenes for environments based on concept art and reference imagery;
  • Collaborate with Level Design Teams to maintain gameplay requirements and Tech Art to maintain performance requirements.

Qualifications

You push what environment art can mean to a game through creative initiatives, and you’re not afraid to take responsibility/ownership for what's needed to make the game better. Your openness and flexibility complements this and enables you to provide insights from all parts of the development into your area of expertise, which makes you a valuable source of ideas and suggestions.


Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:

  • A relevant portfolio of artwork (must include Level/Environment Art, ideally with a realistic style);
  • Proven experience working in the games industry on at least one AAA title;
  • Deep understanding of art fundamentals and design (including composition, color theory, and lighting);
  • Knowledge of 3D/texturing packages, and game engines like Unity/Unreal;
  • Solid understanding of the workflows required to create an asset from Blockout to final quality, and optimizing for real-time rendering.

MachineGames is looking for an experienced 3D Artist to join our team. In this role you will create high quality models that are in line with the art direction and concept art.

Our studio is located in central Uppsala, Sweden which is a small and vibrant city 30 minutes north of Stockholm with a historical heritage reaching back to pre-medieval times. It also has the oldest and one of the largest universities in northern Europe.

This is a permanent position starting as soon as possible. We will support your relocation and/or application for work permit if you have a non-EU passport and/or not currently residing in Sweden.


Responsibilities

3D modeling of assets including, but not limited to, creation of characters, buildings, props and vegetation assets
Close collaboration with Art Director, Game Director, Technical Artist and Concept Artist to maintain a coherent vision of the game visuals
Participate in the constant improvement of asset production methods and techniques
Deliver high quality work, within design constraints, in a timely manner over an extended period of time


Requirements

You have 3+ years of experience in AAA or mobile games development
Proven ability to closely adapt a specific art style and create models from concept art
Able to reach good balance between composition, shape, color and detail
Very good knowledge of job-related software – Maia, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Photoshop
Experience with asset creation workflows and pipelines
Strong skills in texturing and painting
Experience with Substance Designer / Painter is a plus
Skills in Animation and/or rigging are a plus
You’re solutions oriented with great problem solving skills
Organized and have excellent time management skills
Fluent in English in speech and writing
Self-starting team player with very strong work ethic and cooperative attitude
Last but not least, you’re passionate about making GREAT games!
