As a Playtest Quality Designer you will guide participation, evolution of process and generation of data for playtests on a given title or franchise. Reporting to a QV Development Manager, you will align with Project, Franchise and Studio partners to understand what a dev team needs from their playtests and how the QV team can co-operate to make them successful.

Here are some questions to consider:

  • Are you committed to driving positive change and taking responsibility for product quality?

  • Do you love playing multiplayer FPS and especially Battlefield titles?

You'll need these qualities:

  • Experience: you have at least 3 years in the QA discipline, including multiple shipped AAA titles
  • Collaboration: you will build cross-discipline partnerships and help grow an enthusiastic playtesting culture
  • Determination: you will evolve processes and manage changing priorities to achieve high-quality playtests
  • Organisation: you will apply structures to playtest data, turning it from raw data into useful information

You'll do these things:

  • Create and run the processes needed to make great Playtests happen
  • Verify Client, Backend, and Telemetry systems and infrastructure for individual releases
  • Use your experience with Build pipelines, Online infrastructure requirements and Data Analysis to spot risks and propose solutions
  • Verify Build Pipelines and Build Quality for external releases
  • Confirm that Builds are suitable to meet the needs of individual Tests
  • Work with wider QV team to test and report on playtest builds to promote playtest predictability
  • Work with User Experience Teams to gather and report useful Player Data
  • Participate in playtests, and provide support for the other play testers

  • Engaging in research on related topics to find inspiration for crafting entertaining content that creates memorable gaming experiences

The Position Avalanche Studios is currently hiring a VFX Artist to join a top-tier team based in Stockholm. We are looking for motivated and driven VFX Artists that are excited about creating cutting edge AAA visual effects. We are interested in hearing from both mid-level and senior developers for this position. The focus and majority of time will be spent creating, implementing and optimizing particle visual effects. Examples include fire, smoke, explosion trails and character effects. The ideal candidate feels comfortable in a team environment and is able to deliver compelling special effects for an original IP. You will work with the Art Director and the design team to create visually stunning effects that enhance the game play utilizing the Avalanche engine. Required qualifications - Experience in the game industry on a AAA game - Expert in creating high-quality particle effects and textures - A portfolio showcasing high-quality effects reel and high resolution effect textures - The ability to view visual reference of an effect, deconstruct it and subsequently re-create it in a real-time game engine is essential - Strong knowledge of environmental effects, cloth simulations, lighting and dynamics - High proficiency in technical problem solving - Knowledge of Photoshop, Maya, Adobe After Effects and Houdini Desired qualifications - Experience creating real time effects using particles, animation, materials - Experience in writing scripts/plugins in MEL, C/C++ for Maya - Experience in creating real time shaders and post effects Employee promise We provide goals, instead of instructions, and the opportunity to do the best work of your career. The Position Avalanche Studios Group is looking for an exceptionally skilled Concept Artist to join a top-tier, experienced team to help craft cutting-edge game worlds for our next AAA game title. As a concept artist at Avalanche Studios you will work directly with the art director, internal interdisciplinary teams, and other internal and external creators to set the artistic tone and vision for our next game. This is a six-month contract position. Required Qualifications - Excellent traditional art skills with an eye for atmospheric, perspective, color, and lighting, and the ability to use these skills to properly portray the mood of the concept - Proficiency in the use of Photoshop or other digital painting tools as well as traditional painting/rendering techniques - The ability to understand and embellish the greater vision of the art director, while considering the constraints of art style, gameplay, technical possibilities - Exceptional skill in communicating an artistic vision, both written and verbally - Good communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills - Some AAA video game platform experience - Passion for playing and making games Desired Qualifications - 3+ years industry experience - Experience with Maya, Zbrush, Blender or other 3D content packages - Exceptional hard surface concept skills - Exceptional environmental concept skills - Familiarity with video game product development including workflow, tools, limits of technology, character turnarounds, storyboarding, marketing material, graphic design, HUD/UI design Employee promise We provide goals, instead of instructions, and the opportunity to do the best work of your career.
