Designmodellör

Designmodellör är en ganska okänd yrkestitel och det beror delvis på att designmodellören utför arbetet, som ligger som ett led i produktframtagningen.

Ju mer yrkeserfarenhet inom form och hantverk du har, desto större är chansen att du kommer att lyckas som designmodellör.

För att bli en riktigt duktig modellör krävs tålamod och mycket övning. 

Utbildning

Utbildning till designmodellör kan finnas inom Yrkeshögskolan.

En passande grundutbildning kan finnas på gymnasieskolans Hantverksprogrammet, inriktning Övriga hantverk eller Estetiska programmet, inriktning Bild och form.

Lämpliga utbildningar kan också finnas på folkhögskolor och Komvux.

Personliga egenskaper

För att trivas med jobbet, måste du vara mycket intresserad av form och hantverk. Du bör även vara lyhörd, uppfinningsrik och självgående. Att vara konstruktiv i sitt förhållningssätt och kunna samarbeta med andra är också en nödvändig förutsättning för att kunna arbeta som designmodellör.

Arbetsplats

Många modellörer jobbar som egna företagare och/eller konsulter. Som anställd kan en utbildad designmodellör arbeta som prototypmodellör åt industridesigners, bland annat inom bilindustrin, som modellbyggare år arkitekter, som attributmakare på ett museum eller en teater, som formtagare i samarbete med konstnärer eller som gipsmodellör för keramisk produktion.

About the role

We are looking for UX Design Researcher to join us. We are a cross functional, agile development team that make mobile apps for domestic appliances. Historically the appliance industry has been all about hardware. Your role would be to help us combine software with hardware to create meaningful, data driven experiences for global consumers.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, plan and execute UX research activities throughout the development process. From on-site user interviews to in-person usability tests, as well as remote and unmoderated tests

• Craft research findings into easy to understand and actionable insights to improve the user experience and effectively communicate the outcome to various stakeholders

• Collaborate with your design, research, product and engineering peers to design excellent user experience from concept to implementation

• Bring concepts to life with lo-fi & hi-fi prototypes (and know when a simple sketch will suffice)

• Engage in constructive design critique with designers and cross-disciplinary partners

• Work with, and evolve, the Electrolux Group design language system and pattern library

• Build strong working relationships with other designers and researchers globally across the Electrolux organization

Required

• 2+ years of research experience with end-to-end software product design

• Experience of choosing and applying from a variety of and UX research methods including user interviews, diary studies, unmoderated usability tests, and surveys.

• Experience of, or interest in, designing voice first user experiences

• Understanding of iOS and Android design guidelines and UX principles

• Excellent command of standard design applications such as Figma, Adobe Suite and Zeplin

• Excellent spoken and written English

• Great presentation skills

• An online portfolio, or PDF, that shows a range of your work

What you’ll do:

You'll join our work in designing change that matters through your passion and expertise in best-in-class, human-centered design. In your role, you'll be a key contributor in delivering high quality human-centred solutions. Your primary focus will be on a great variety of Digital Business Building projects, helping clients to rapidly imagine, build and scale game-changing offerings from the ground up – and develop their capabilities to do it again and again.

You'll work on diverse, cross-functional teams (bringing together design, agile, engineering, business, data science, product owners and more) hand in hand with the client – and will tackle all aspects of the design and business building process, often through leading interactive workshops and concepts sprints. You'll leverage all your design capabilities to prototype and iterate on UX/UI design including sketching, information architecture, wireframes and user flows. You'll support with usability testing sessions, synthesizing findings and iteratively integrating them into design solutions. You'll think creatively and strategically, supporting dissecting business problems and using design methodologies to develop innovative outcomes that communicate the product vision.

-Bachelor's or master's degree in interaction design, interface design, human computer interaction, fine arts or service/graphic/communication design with an emphasis on UX or equivalent qualification

-Relevant industry experience designing applications, experiences, websites, products and services that balance user needs, business objectives and technological constraints

-Strong interaction and visual design skills using a diverse set of software and rapid prototyping tools such as Adobe CS, Sketch, Figma, InVision, ProtoPie, Principle

-Familiarity with Agile software development process and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello is a plus

-Positive attitude and motivation to deliver highest quality work•Entrepreneurial, experimental and self-driven while also being collaborative•Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work in a constantly changing, fast paced environment

-Excellent communication skills

-Professional language skills in English, both verbally and in writing; one Scandinavian language is a plus

-Willingness to travel and spend time onsite with clients and other teams
