Det finns en yrkesgrupp som är proffs på diverse risker, inklusive mycket allvarliga händelser – nämligen riskhanterare.
Begreppet "risk" täcker alla oförutsägbara händelser som kan ge negativ påverkan på något skyddsvärt, det kan t ex vara ett fall från hög höjd med följer som allt från ingen skada till dödsfall.
En riskhanterare kan jobba både "högt och lågt", från att förebygga att fallskador sker till att skapa och utvärdera och uppdatera beredskapsplaner för olika sorters allvarliga händelser, som kan påverka stora delar av samhället.
Samhället har blivit mer sårbart. Om det blir problem på elnätet blir konsekvensen större idag än tidigare. En tekniker planerar för verksamheten i normalläget. Riskhanterare har däremot med "plan B" från början om något oväntat händer i samhället – bränder, olyckor eller andra katastrofer.
Lagstiftningen har också skärpts vad det gäller olyckor och katastrofer. Kommunerna måste ha beredskapsplaner och enskilda företag och organisationers ansvar är större. Tidigare har försvaret kunnat ställa upp vid olyckor.
Civilförsvaret har hållit lager med gasmasker och pumpar. Så är det inte längre. Det finns kanske tio pumpar på en industri i närheten av ett översvämmat område som kan användas, men då måste någon veta var pumparna finns och även ha ringt och pratat med industrin innan olyckan är framme.
Det finns ett Kandidatrpogram i Östersund.
Grundkunskaper finns bl a på gymnasiets Samhällsvetenskapsprogrammet.
Det kan finnas en bra grund att skaffa på yrkeshögskolan.
Riskhanterarna arbetar på företag, inom kommun, på Räddningsverket, Krisberedskapsmyndigheten och inom försäkringsbranschen.

• Experience working within the financial sector or another highly regulated industry.
• Solid understanding of governance, risk and control frameworks.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making at executive level.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, including DORA, information security and operational resilience frameworks.
• Strong analytical capabilities and sound judgement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• University degree in a relevant discipline.
