Observit AB develops software that connects cameras and other devices to the cloud for secure management and access to video and technical data. Our systems operate in environments where reliability is critical – from devices on buses and trains to video processing and AI-powered analytics in the cloud.

We are currently in a technical modernization and development phase, where Visual AI is becoming an increasingly important part of our products. At the same time, we continue to improve the systems and processing chains that make these AI solutions work reliably in production.

We are therefore looking for a Junior Visual AI Developer who wants to develop Visual AI solutions together with us, while also contributing to the broader software systems around them.

The role is not limited to AI development. You will work across the technical chain – from cameras, video streams and AI models to processing services, backend systems, integrations and automated testing.

We believe you have

· A relevant university degree, or are close to completing one, in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Engineering or a related field

· Knowledge of AI, Computer Vision or Machine Learning

· An understanding of image and video processing and how AI models can be used in real-world systems

· Programming experience, particularly with Python and relevant Visual AI tools

· A basic understanding of software and system development

· An interest in working beyond the AI model itself, including backend services, processing chains, integrations and testing

· A basic understanding of software testing and quality assurance

Experience from university projects, thesis work, internships, open-source projects or personal projects is relevant. We do not expect you to already have several years of professional experience.

You will work with

· Development and improvement of Visual AI solutions for image and video analysis

· Evaluation, testing and improvement of AI models and algorithms

· Integration of AI solutions into our products and video processing chains

· Development of non-AI software and processing chains for video, metadata and AI results

· Backend and system development, including APIs, services, data processing and integrations

· Development of automated tests and test environments

· Testing and quality assurance throughout the complete chain

· Step-by-step modernization of existing systems and development practices

· Improvements to build, test and delivery workflows, including CI/CD

· Close collaboration with embedded, backend and AI developers

You as a developer

· Are interested in Visual AI and the software engineering challenges around it

· Want to understand how the complete system works, rather than focusing only on individual models

· Write clear, maintainable and readable code

· Are interested in working with Git, code reviews and automated testing

· Enjoy collaborating across different technical disciplines

· Are curious, willing to learn and gradually take ownership of technical solutions

· Are fluent in spoken and written English
